ACCREDITATION PROCEDURES

This section provides detailed information regarding application procedures for accredited institutional Membership in NASM. It is recommended that individuals new to NASM become familiar with all information located within this section. Individuals guiding their institutions through the accreditation process must become familiar with and conversant in the NASM Handbook and the NASM Membership Procedures documents.

STANDARDS
The NASM Handbook, in conjunction with any current addenda, contains standards and guidelines used by the NASM Commissions on Accreditation to make decisions about accredited institutional Membership. Applicant institutions must demonstrate, through the review process, attention to and compliance with all applicable standards.

PROCEDURES FOR ACCREDITATION APPLICATIONS
All Procedures for comprehensive reviews for first-time applications or continuation of accredited institutional Membership may be found within this section, including the formats for self-study. A comprehensive review requires the preparation of a Self-Study, the hosting of an on-site review team, and culminates with a decision by the appropriate Commission.
