2009 Annual Meeting Information
National Association of Schools of Music EIGHTY-FIFTH ANNUAL MEETING November 20 - 24, 2009
The Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel San Diego, California
NASM is pleased to present a detailed guide to its 85th Annual Meeting.
On-site registration for the NASM Annual Meeting will open at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009. An orientation for music executives new to NASM will be held on Saturday, November 21 at 4:00 p.m.
The NASM Annual Meeting will conclude at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24.
Representatives of non-member institutions are welcome at the meeting.
The meeting format will continue the Association's multi-year discussion of advocacy, with two general sessions on the subject.
The meeting will again feature scheduled times for roundtable discussion groups. These discussion groups will provide opportunities for participants to raise questions about topics of significance at institutions, and to gain insights from colleagues. For example, the topic of undergraduate curricula will be discussed, as well as other subjects introduced by attendees.
Concurrent sessions will be held on a wide variety of topics such as multimedia and multidisciplinary futures issues (for administrators); the exploration of multiple curricular futures for music teacher preparation; personnel issues in difficult financial times; and current fiscal realities, strategic thinking, and comprehensive planning.
Rounding out the program will be Regional Meetings, training workshops, open forums, and interest group sessions.

These workshops are of varying lengths and formats, and each is targeted to executives with particular interests and experiences.

NASM Board of Directors members and attendees at evaluator training sessions should check for conflicts with their scheduled meetings.
If you are interested in more than one workshop, please check carefully before registering to ensure there are no time conflicts.
