ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES RELATED TO THE ACCREDITATION PROCESS

Annual Reports
Provides information about reports required of accredited institutional Members (HEADS Annual Report; Institutional Audit; Supplemental Annual Report [required if NASM is the designated institutional accreditor]).

NASM Procedures for Submitting an Optional Response to Visitors' Report
Provides requirements and guidelines for submitting an Optional Response to the NASM Visitors' Report following an on-site visit and before Commission review.

NASM Procedures for Submitting Responses and Progress Reports
Provides requirements and guidelines for submitting a response and/or a progress report to NASM when requested to do so by the Commission.

NASM Policies and Procedures for Reviews of New Curricula
(Current members only.) To be used to submit applications for Plan Approval and/or Final Approval for Listing between full reviews. NOTE: For Plan Approval applications, the NASM "Instructions for Preparing Curricular Tables in the NASM Format" will be needed, as well (see immediately below).

Instructions for Preparing Curricular Tables in the NASM Format
Must be used to prepare applications for Plan Approval in addition to the "Policies and Procedures for Reviews of New Curricula" immediately above.

NASM Substantive Change Applications
(Current members only.)  Institutions are required to gain prior approval of substantive change in existing curricula occurring between regular accreditation visits.

NASM Procedures: Music Therapy Supplement
Provides additional procedures for use by institutions applying for Membership or Renewal of Membership that offer degree programs in music therapy.

Size and Scope Questionnaire and Policy
(Current members only.) To provide information when requested to do so by the Commission.

PROCEDURES RELATED TO NON-ACCREDITATION REVIEWS

Alternative Review Process for Music Therapy Programs
Provides procedures for institutions/entities not eligible for NASM accreditation offering music therapy programs approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) to apply for a Statement of Affirmation from NASM.

Policies and Procedures for NASM Substantial Equivalency Evaluations
To be used by institutions not chartered in the United States.
