Public Notice: Comprehensive Review of Graduate Standards

August 14, 2015

2015 marks the beginning of NASM’s multi-year review of its standards and guidelines. The first phase of this review will focus on the standards for graduate studies in music.

The first comment period for graduate standards extends from August 14 to December 1, 2015. We invite all representatives of member institutions, constituencies, music professionals, deans, accreditors, students, interested parties, and the general public to engage in this review. The comments received in this comment period will influence any proposals for changes to the standards.

Hearings on the graduate standards will be held on Sunday, November 22 and Monday, November 23 at the NASM 2015 Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. No action to revise the graduate standards will be taken at the 2015 NASM Annual Meeting.
