David E. Scott is Head of the Department of Music and Professor of Music at Texas A&M University-Commerce. His on-campus duties include teaching graduate courses in Music Education and providing administrative leadership for an academic unit currently serving 42 faculty and 300 majors in graduate and undergraduate programs. Before joining the faculty at A&M-Commerce, Professor Scott spent 14 years as Director of Bands and Head of the Department of Art and Music at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX, and served six years as Director of Bands, Chair of the Woodwind, Brass and Percussion Division and Associate Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
Professor Scott serves NASM as a Visiting Evaluator. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Music Education and Music Performance from Baylor University, and a Master’s degree in Instrumental Conducting and Ph.D. in Music Education from The Ohio State University.
