David Scott is Professor of Music and Associate Dean of the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts at Texas A&M University-Commerce. In addition to his administrative role, his on-campus duties include teaching graduate courses in Music Education. Prior to his appointment with the College, he served as Head of the Department for Music for six years. Before joining the faculty at A&M-Commerce, Dr. Scott spent 14 years as Director of Bands and Head of the Department of Art and Music at Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX, and he also served six years as Director of Bands, Chair of the Woodwind, Brass and Percussion Division and Associate Professor of Music at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Dr. Scott holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Music Education and Music Performance from Baylor University, and a Master’s degree in Instrumental Conducting and Ph.D. in Music Education from The Ohio State University.
