Dennis W. AsKew currently serves as Director of the School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, having previously served as Assistant Dean for the School of Music and Head of the Department of Music Performance.
Currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra and the Eastern Music Festival, he was previously President of the International Tuba Euphonium Association and President of the Board of Directors of the Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. Professor AsKew has also served as an Associate Regent for Pi Kappa Lambda.
Professor AsKew continues to be active as a performer and pedagogue, giving solo performances, clinics, and masterclasses throughout North America, China, Europe, and Australia, as well as numerous concerts and clinics throughout the United States and China as a member of the Market Street and Palladium Brass Quintets.
Profesor AsKew holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Tuba Performance degree from the University of Michigan, a Master of Music in Tuba Performance degree from Pennsylvania State University, and Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education degrees from the University of Georgia.
