KATHRYN L. FOUSE is Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. As an educator and administrator, Dean Fouse enjoys crossing discipline boundaries to collaborate with colleagues in designing creative approaches to curricular development, assessment, and strategic planning. 

Dean Fouse maintains an active performing career as both a soloist and a collaborative artist. Her research into connections between art and music has been presented at numerous colleges and universities both in the U.S. and in Europe, as well as for the Music Teachers National Association, the College Music Society, and the International Conference on The Arts in Society. In addition to her solo performances, she has collaborated as an accompanist with such artists as Timofei Dokschidzer, Edward H. Tarr, David Bilger, Ronald Barron, James Thompson, Vincent diMartino, Steven Mead, and Dale Underwood. She has served as staff accompanist for many international competitions and festivals, including conferences of the International Trumpet Guild; the North American Saxophone Alliance; the European Trumpet Days; the Moscow International Trumpet Competition and Festival; the ARD International Trumpet Competition in Munich, Germany; and the Vassily Brandt International Trumpet Solo Competition and Festival. 

Dean Fouse has served NASM as a member of the Nominating Committee. 

Dean Fouse holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of North Texas, a Master of Music degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and a Bachelor of Music degree from Baylor University, all in Piano Performance. Her principal teachers include Eugenia O’Reilly, David Albee, Ruth Slenczynska, and Pamela Mia Paul.
