SUSAN D. VAN VORST is Dean of the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Performing Arts, a position she has held for 13 years. Prior to this appointment, Dean Van Vorst served as Director of Development for The Cleveland Orchestra. In this role, she led a team of 22 professional advancement staff. She has also served as foundation President and Vice President of Fund Development at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron, Ohio. A highlight of her tenure at Stan Hywet was the design and leadership of a campaign to restore the 1915 Aeolian organ in the manor house music room. Dean Van Vorst played a primary role in Stan Hywet’s presentation of musical programming. Additionally, she has previously led the enrollment efforts for the Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music and has served in various management capacities for DANCECleveland, the Akron Symphony, and the San Antonio Symphony.
Dean Van Vorst serves NASM as a visiting evaluator. She was a member of the Board of Directors as Chair of Region 5 and has served as a member of the Nominating Committee.
Dean Van Vorst is a summa cum laude graduate of both the University of Akron, with a Master of Arts degree in Arts Management, and Kent State University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music.
