Wes C. Moore

Wes C. Moore is Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Dallas Baptist University (DBU). The College of Fine Arts houses the Departments of Music, Visual Arts, and Communication Arts. In addition to his administrative duties, he teaches private voice and advises undergraduate vocal performance majors. He was the recipient of the DBU Piper Outstanding Faculty Member Award for 2018–2019 and received the Faculty Member of the Year award for the DBU Department of Music in 2014–2015. He is active on campus in various areas of leadership and service outside of the Fine Arts, having chaired the university’s Academic Affairs Committee, served on the recent Strategic Plan Committee and is currently serving on the General Studies Revision Task Force.

Professor Moore is a critically acclaimed performer in opera, oratorio, and experimental electro-acoustical genres, as well as a recitalist, lecturer, and adjudicator at universities, schools, and performing arts organizations. He has presented programs on the intersection of classical and contemporary musical genres and the performance practice of art song, and has given masterclasses in both solo and sacred/choral singing techniques and stage interpretation. Additionally, he has served on the boards of various community arts organizations and non-profits. He hold memberships in the National Association of Teachers of Singing, College Music Society, and Pi Kappa Lambda.

Professor Moore serves NASM as a visiting evaluator.

Professor Moore holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas, as well as degrees in voice from Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Seminary. He has also studied at Oklahoma State University.
