JENNIFER CUNNINGHAM is the Dean of Arts and Humanities at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. During her tenure, she led the institution through its initial NASM accreditation process. An advocate for access arts education, Dean Cunningham works closely with Kirkwood faculty and students to create and promote community partnerships providing valuable student experiences and performance opportunities with schools and professional arts organizations, including the Cedar Rapids Community School District, Orchestra Iowa, and Theatre Cedar Rapids.
Dean Cunningham has performed with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Iowa, Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra, and the Northwest Arkansas Symphony Orchestra. She was also winner of the 2008 National Flute Association Piccolo Masterclass Competition.
Dean Cunningham serves NASM as a visiting evaluator. She currently serves as Vice Chair of Region 4.
Dean Cunningham holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa, and Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Flute Performance from the University of Arkansas.
