Lucia Unrau

Lucia Unrau joined the faculty of Murray State University in 2017 as Chair of the Department of Music and Professor of Music. Prior to this appointment, she served as Chair of the Music Department as well as Chair of the Communication and Fine Arts Division at Bluffton University. Professor Unrau has been a member of the piano faculty at Interlochen Arts Camp since 1993, and since 2005 has served as the Camp Keyboard Coordinator, where she developed and now oversees the keyboard curriculum. In 2009, Professor Unrau, past President of the Ohio Music Teachers Association, was named the OhioMTA Collegiate Teacher of the Year. She has served on the planning committee of the Music Teachers National Association national conference, as well as serving as a presenter.

Professor Unrau regularly collaborates with composers such as Roshanne Etezady, Dan Welcher, Don Freund, Libby Larsen, and performers Timothy McAllister, Benjamin Karp, Lenny Schranze, and Gerry Pagano. She holds degrees in piano performance from the University of Texas at Austin, Indiana University, and Oberlin College Conservatory of Music.
