One Hundred and Second Annual Meeting

NASM is pleased to publish details about the One Hundred and Second Annual Meeting. Information regarding Pre-Meeting Workshops, Annual Meeting sessions and events, the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch and its surroundings, and registration will be located in this section of the website when available. NASM encourages the participation of individuals from non-member institutions. We look forward to welcoming you to the meeting in St. Louis.

Please join us for the One Hundred and Second Annual Meeting of the National Association of Schools of Music. The 2026 Annual Meeting will feature multiple topics of particular importance to music executives today including:

  • Workforce Development: An Exploration of Careers for Musicians
  • AI Applications for Music Programs and Practice
  • Finding Solutions for the School Music Teacher Shortage: Region Discussions
  • Health and Wellness for Musicians: Sharing Practices
  • Aligning Mission, Goals, and Objectives with Available Resources

Expanded Tuesday morning workshop session topics will include:

  • Admission Strategies
  • Commercial Music Programs
  • Strategic Planning
  • HEADS Navigable Dashboards
  • External Advocacy
  • Budget Models
  • Revenue Streams
  • Experienced Administrators

The Annual Meeting will be preceded by pre-meeting workshops for both new and experienced administrators. These workshops will focus on topics of interest to attendees such as:

  • Goals, Planning, and Time Management
  • Working with the Academic Community
  • Financial Management
  • Working with the Faculty
  • Community Relations and Fundraising
  • Assistant Directors/Associate Deans
  • Mid-Career Music Administrators
  • Experienced Music Administrators
  • Community and Two-Year Colleges
  • Non-Degree-Granting Institutions

In addition, these pre-meetings will offer an opportunity for attendees to gather with colleagues to explore issues of common concern and interest.

In addition to Pre-Meeting and Annual Meeting topic-focused session, training workshops will be offered for those preparing Self-Studies and applications for Commission reviews, those interested in gaining a more in-depth understanding of the NASM standards, and for individuals interested in serving NASM as visiting evaluators.

Representatives from accredited institutional members are asked to attend the Annual Meeting to participate in the programming noted above and to vote on behalf of their institution in conducting the annual business of the Association. The NASM pre- and Annual Meetings are open to music administrators from both accredited and potential member institutions. Individuals aspiring to become music administrators are welcome to attend.

The Annual Meeting registration fee is $210 and includes continental breakfast on Sunday and Monday (Lisa will need to clarify the breakfasts, fee is correct).

The room rate for attendees booked into the NASM room block at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch is $xxx, single/double occupancy.

The full program is expected to become available in late May.

Annual Meeting Registration

Online registration is coming soon.

After online registration closes on October 23, 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, registration for Pre-Meeting Workshops and the Annual Meeting may be accomplished on site at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at the Arch beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 20. On-site registration will be assessed an additional fee of $25. To expedite on-site processing, please bring a completed registration form.
