Kevin J. Dobreff, Program Director and Chair of the Music Department at Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC), is now in his thirtieth year at GRCC. Over the years, he has taught music theory, aural comprehension, music history, and conducted the early music ensemble.

Prior to his appointment at Grand Rapids Community College in 1991, Professor Dobreff held music faculty positions at Marshall University and Southwestern Community College. He has also served on the Central Division and Michigan boards of ACDA, and the Michigan Association for Jazz Education.

Professor Dobreff was a member of the Commission on Community College Accreditation from 2010–2016. He was first elected Chair in 2017.

Professor Dobreff earned a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting and Literature from Marshall University and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (Choral and Instrumental) from Bowling Green State University. He has completed requirements toward the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting at Michigan State University.
