Caterina Bristol is Professor of Music and Associate Dean for the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Alabama State University. She has presented on the topics of diversity in graduate music programs, 21st century musicianship, and the use of technology for under-resourced institutions at several national and international conferences. She coordinates an HBCU Composers’ Concert, featuring the music of composers from historically black colleges and universities. She serves as the Southern Division Chair for the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors and is a Fellow of the Sphinx Organization SphinxConnect program.
Associate Dean Bristol serves NASM as a Visiting Evaluator, and was a member of the Nominating Committee in 2015.
She earned degrees in music performance and pedagogy from The Ohio State University and the University of Northern Colorado. She also holds a Master of Library Science from Texas Woman’s University.
